The Flourishing

w/ @zara

The Flourishing is an ode to fashions that took center stage during this year’s summer months.

Bohemian dresses drenched in vibrant colored flowers, wide-legged trousers, mixed patterns, bold accessories, flat platforms with cherry blossoms and of course, we can’t forget about the Labubu craze!

As far as South Florida is concerned, honestly, I don’t think the summer season had many rules. The only standout: dresses reminiscent of a vacation in the Amazon Rainforest.

Zara and Farm Rio took the lead on that trend and Larroude did, too; elevating its summer shoe game with eye-catching fabrics, bold colors and prints complementing that jungle flower feel.

In the tropics, summer is always a tricky balancing act fashion-wise. Less is more, but doing so can be like walking a tightrope; leading from one fashion emergency to another.

Overt sexuality may cool the lady bits, but it’s not exactly “fashion;” it’s more of a “faux pas,” even if it’s hot, literally and figuratively. Good thing…

Designers like @ximenakavalekas gave us choices with her new Knitwear line which was featured in my previous Fashion Series, “The Knit Job.”

Although, we’re still sweating it out in SoFlo, Fall Fashions are rolling out like gangbusters with structured suits and dresses. Think Wall Street meets ‘Zadig & Voltaire.’

Bohemian Goth is also trending, and boots, boots and more boots are front and center. From combat to faux fur to sleek leather, boot (no matter the kind) is the word.

Here’s to celebrating the end of Summer and the beginning of Fall. Have a wonderful September and let’s hope for some Autumn weather sooner than later.

“And all at once, Summer collapses into Fall.” —Oscar Wilde
