As we breeze through the cooler months of South Florida, the fashion landscape is changing textures.
In fact, LACE is becoming one of the most prominent trends on the runways; especially for Spring.
The fabric is easy to celebrate because of its beauty, elegance and versatility. Think more bohemian like Stevie Nicks and less proper than English Royalty.
So who invented lace?
While there’s no definitive answer, according to historians it was probably born in Italy; around the 16th century and was originally referred to as “Ties.”
Whomever named it (in the beginning,) was onto something as lace can elevate most any look as well as adding that special touch (or “tie”-in) fashionistas are always looking for.
I chose a Karen Millen dress with a nude underlay to express the femininity of the trend and Magaela Accessories, a Slovak brand established in 2013, to accentuate a bohemian look.
