“I’m dreaming”… of a world with more tolerance, acceptance and peace. I don’t mean to sound like a Hallmark card, but this year has been a tough one.
From mass shootings to racism, staunch political divisions, antisemitism and two wars raging amongst us, I wonder if [as a society] we’ve lost our way.
A career in television journalism is a true gift, but it’s also a front row seat to the pain and suffering of the human condition and there’s sure been a lot of it lately.
Entertainment news lessens the blow, but with media and movie conglomerations buying up the little guys, what will become of our creativity? More for the masses and less time finding unique stories that leave an imprint on our hearts?
Then there’s the disaster of Sean Diddy Combs blowing up his life for “freak-off” sex while objectifying women and most recently, the tragedy of legendary director Rob Reiner & his wife, Michele Reiner, who were murdered by their own son. Talk about devastating.
While I’m hoping the holidays bring love and happiness, I’m also wishing we can all commit to being better humans on planet earth.
“Three things to remember this holiday season: Breathe. Spend time with people you love. Rest when you can. Be kind to yourself and remember, you don’t have to be a superhero.”
