French Kiss with a Miami Twist

I love French Fashion: the clean lines, chic sensibility and quality staple pieces created to outlast any trendy *it* moment that happens to be in style.

And don’t even get me started on the Parisian accessory game. They know how to wear hats, scarves, gloves, pearls and vintage broaches as if Coco Chanel picked them out herself.

I’ve visited France on many occasions and shopped my way through vintage stores, high-end boutiques and local shops to achieve the perfect aesthetic.

I find fall to be the most interesting season. Layering a turtleneck under a snappy blazer and wearing a great scarf can do wonders for a fashionista’s spirits. Throw in a pair of high-waisted corduroys and I’m dead … with happiness.

Alas, South Florida doesn’t support that kind of elegance weather-wise, but I still wanted to pay homage to French Fashion as our blazing temperatures turn into a light boil.

An LBD was kind of a no-brainer and I easily built around it adding whimsical jewelry with the “City of Love” in mind, like …

Heart earrings by “The Pink Reef” and fingers dripping with vintage-inspired rings: delicate and dramatic from “Rocksbox”.

“Cappello Fashion” makes luxurious hats, more specifically, berets. I went with red, because you can never go wrong with a pop of color this time of year.

Speaking of red, how bout’ them boots? Fluffy, furry, fuzzy balls of love wrapped around my legs. They’re called the ICON (by Steve Madden.)

“LoveLee Bakery” in Fort Lauderdale was the picture-perfect background. It’s a little slice of heaven serving up delicious custom cakes and yummy, homemade goodies.

They’ve actually teamed up with @gatheringcoffee to make tasty drinks to complement their treats. It’s a definite must-try.

While French Fashion never really goes out of style, honestly, that’s not why I chose to feature it. Lately, it seems the world has experienced an overload of negativity. I just wanted to do a Fashion Series that felt good amongst the chaos of it all.

Viola! “French Kiss with a
Miami Twist,” it is. Xo
