Did you know, green is a thing for Spring/Summer 2025?

Different shades of the color are trending, and are so popular, they may dethrone black as the go to color for fashionistas.

According to Glamour Magazine, the reason for the green hype is something called: “Terra Futura” aesthetic; combining environmental awareness with futuristic design.

While Haute Couture houses usually dictate trends, green has its own rich history. In the 15th century, green was used for wedding dresses; considered a sign of fertility.

Today, it symbolizes nature, growth, renewal and vitality. Green can also evoke feelings of calmness, balance and harmony.

In the coming months: Olive, Emerald, Sage and Pistachio will slowly replace the rich chocolate browns dominating the fashion landscape.

I personally love the trend, because at work (on television,) I can’t wear green because our Deco Drive set involves a Chroma Key (using color information to select a very specific range of colors and isolate them.)

The idea is to utilize the contrast in colors to shift reality/cut subjects from a background and place them somewhere else. Gotta love TV magic.

I embraced the “Emerald in the City,” trend by mixing different shades of green, and highlighting its vibrancy with pink.

My outfit of choice made me feel “Grand in Green,” but if green isn’t your thing, accent with an accessory instead. It’ll give your look a pop of unexpected energy.

“The first dress worn on earth was green.” – anonymous
